Tutoring Policy – JLB Tutoring

At JLB Tutoring, we approach every student relationship with patience, kindness, and care—believing growth comes not only through instruction but also through encouragement and grace. This policy reflects our commitment to excellence, accountability, and Christ-centered support.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or changes.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be forfeited without refund.

  • Students who are more than 15 minutes late may have their session canceled.

No-Shows

  • No-shows are non-refundable and non-reschedulable.

Package Expirations

  • Packages expire based on their size (60–180 days).

  • Sessions must be used before the expiration date.

Technology Expectations

  • Sessions are hosted via Microsoft Teams.

  • Families are responsible for having a stable internet connection.

  • Sessions will not be extended due to tech issues on the student’s end.

Academic Progress & Testing

  • Tutoring supports growth in understanding and homework/class success.

  • However, test performance can vary due to anxiety or external factors.

  • I am not responsible for test scores or performance outcomes.

Student Conduct

  • Students must be respectful, cooperative, and focused.

  • Disruptive behavior (disrespect, refusal to work, foul language) will be documented.

  • A warning will be issued to the parent.

    • Minor behavior: one additional chance may be given.

    • Serious or repeated issues may result in dismissal without refund.

Refunds & Transfers

  • All sessions and packages are non-refundable once booked.

  • Families with more than one student are eligible for a 20% sibling discount on additional personalized tutoring sessions or packages, with prior approval. This discount must be arranged before booking.

  • Unused sessions may be transferred to a sibling with prior approval.

Academic Data Use

  • When you book a session, you’re also giving permission for us to monitor your child’s growth and use anonymous data to continually improve the support we offer.

  • This supports my mission to serve with excellence and help other students thrive.
